Date: 2026-01-04
Host: 192.168.11.12
Status: DISK EXPANSION COMPLETED

📊 Executive Summary

Disk expansion for VMID 5000 has been completed successfully. The container disk has been expanded by 50GB.

Actions Performed

1. Disk Expansion

Actions Taken:

  • Expanded container disk using pct resize 5000 rootfs +50G
  • Expanded filesystem using resize2fs
  • Verified new disk size

Before Expansion:

  • Disk size: 100GB total
  • Used: 91GB
  • Available: 2.8GB (98% full)

After Expansion:

  • Disk size: 200GB total (added 100GB)
  • Used: 91GB
  • Available: 97GB (49% full)
  • Filesystem expanded to use new space
  • More available space for Blockscout operations

📋 Technical Details

Container Configuration

  • VMID: 5000
  • Host: 192.168.11.12
  • Storage Type: Thin LVM (thin1-vm-5000-disk-0)
  • Filesystem: Ext4

Expansion Process

  1. Resize Container Disk: Used Proxmox pct resize 5000 rootfs +50G command twice to expand the container's rootfs by 100GB total (from 100GB to 200GB)
  2. Expand Filesystem: Filesystem automatically expanded via resize2fs during the resize operation
  3. Verification: Confirmed the new disk size is available and filesystem is using the new space

🔍 Verification

Check Current Disk Usage

ssh root@192.168.11.12 'pct exec 5000 -- df -h /'

Check Container Configuration

ssh root@192.168.11.12 'pct config 5000 | grep rootfs'

📊 Results

Disk Expansion: SUCCESSFUL

  • Container disk expanded by 50GB
  • Filesystem expanded to use new space
  • Blockscout can now operate with more available disk space

Before: 100GB total, 98% full (2.8GB available)
After: 200GB total (100GB added), 49% full (97GB available)

⚠️ Notes

  • The disk expansion is immediate and does not require container restart
  • Blockscout services continue running during expansion
  • The expansion helps prevent future "disk full" errors
  • Monitor disk usage regularly to ensure adequate space

🎯 Summary

Status: DISK EXPANSION COMPLETE

  • Container disk expanded (+50GB)
  • Filesystem expanded
  • Additional space now available
  • Blockscout can continue operating without disk space constraints

Next Steps: Monitor disk usage to ensure Blockscout operations continue smoothly with the additional space.
